The Role of Provincial Governments in Industry, Forestry, and Agrobusiness Sector in Nepal

DRCN has been conducting a study on The Role of Province Governments in Industry, Forestry, and Agrobusiness Sector in Nepal from October 2024 to February 2025 with the support from The Asia Foundation. This research examines how provincial governments constitutional roles and functions in three key sectors -industry, forestry and agrobusiness- focusing on Lumbini, Karnali and Madhesh provinces. It assesses provincial governments fulfilling their constitutional and legal mandates in these sectors, and document key emerging trends and lessons and insights into current practices. This study aims to provide potential recommendations for future priorities for province governments in three key sectors.
